Selectively Print Notes On Documents

The note type controls which -- or if -- notes are printed on documents: B notes print before line items, P notes print after line items, and N notes don't print. But did you know that you can use note types 0 through 9 to make specific notes to print on document copies?

The best way to illustrate how they work is by example. Notes of each type were was entered for order CA-10061555:

In Document Output Parameters Maintenance (TDOC), specify at the copy or profile level the notes types you want to print:

Continuing this example, note codes 2, 3 and 8 (in addition to the B and P notes that print on all documents) print on the customer's copy of the sales acknowledgement. The Note print codes field applies to both header and line notes (in the example, there are no order line notes).

The customer's copy of the invoice is set up in TDOC like this:

Note codes 5 and 6 (in addition to the B and P notes) print on the customer's copy of the invoice:

You can set up different rules for each document or profile, giving you the flexibility to communicate different information based on the type of document or the recipient.
